Hi! I am the Program Director for Friends of the Amargosa Basin, and I live and work in Shoshone, California, a stone’s throw away from Nevada. I aspire to be a lifelong desert enthusiast, advocating tirelessly for the health and vibrancy of desert lands and critters with my writing, photography, and overall passion. I “discovered” the Mojave in the Fall of 2017 on a class field trip while attending CSU Long Beach, and I’ve been spellbound ever since. Having recently finished my master’s thesis on the western Joshua tree conservation debate in the Morongo Basin, I’m aiming to bring such introductory knowledge and experience to Friends’ campaign for an Amargosa Basin National Monument, while learning tremendously more about the region and communities on both sides of the border.
